Bar formerly known as The Pub?

Postby fisticuffs » Wed Sep 15, 2010 1:32 pm

What's this place gonna be called again? There was a thread or an Isthmus article on the subject. I want to know about booking.
Thanks

Best post from that thread:

That's the one. Wonder when they open or are they? Website says mid-July.

They are more or less open, although I think they are still doing some remodeling.

The stage has been torn out and replaced with a mechanical bull.

Maybe they will keep up the idea of a mechanical bull and add in a mechanical band. Chuck E. Cheese-style. It would be a good fit for the venue they are creating, a mechanical band won't sound any more robotic than most of the bands that play at Badger Bowl and Scatz.

My personal favorite from the Mr. Munch Make Believe Band catalog, I'd love to see this in front of a packed house at Whiskey River.

Like a Pizza
(to the tune of Like a Prayer)

I hear Chuck E's voice, it’s like a robot angel singing
Thanks for the coins, those arcade games need some playin'
and I’ll take a large Pepsi
I eat a slice, oh God I think we're running
Out of pizza, order some more
Pizza's so yummy

When you call your mom, have her take you to that smell
Go to Chuck E Cheese, order lots of pizza there
In the midafternoon hour, my insides need a pepperoni shower
Be a pizza player, get your mom to drive you there

Aren't those lyrics from the original version?
