I don't want to be Mr. Negative or anything but this "play loud" thing has become a caricature and is kind of feeble in my opinion. In fact, the whole "Let's Rock" thing is totally feeble and smells of moth balls and my grandmother's underwear drawer.

Like I said earlier, I only heard the God Damns once but I really like the band. My take was not a "loud rock band" but more of a blues based roots band. I have heard Nate Palan many many times and I think he is a first rate performer. But he's not that loud and this image of a loud rock band is inconsistent with what my actual experience of the band was.

I probably will get a ton of shit for saying this stuff but I just want to repeat that I really really like The God Damns and I really really like all the musicians in the group so please don't do a Henry Vilas/TheBookPolice/Garimba number on my ass, OK?

Finally, you guys are going to name your CD whatever you God Damn feel like anyhow so I will conclude by saying I look forward to hearing your CD and wish you guys much success in show biz.

I think that's the whole point.

Wait, we're releasing a CD next Thursday?

I cannot believe the Thriller suggestion took wings, it just goes to show that sometimes the silliest idea is also the best of the worst. I voted for it, and not because I proffered it.

Play Loud just seems too obvious in spite of its fitting connotation.

I like the Phyllis Diller title the most.

I still can't believe it's coming out next week. Hopefully I remember the tunes and we don't choke like The Brewers.

Flop Sweat was just suggested by an anonymous source.

Flop Sweat!

Arguably, sure. But what hasn't? There is nothing new, so who cares? I personally think trying hard to be "artistic" and "different" while basically playing the same boring thing as everybody else is more stale than trying to be a fun, enjoyable band. I'll take stupid and fun rock'n'roll over any music that takes itself too seriously and worries about how others perceive it any time.

Nate may not be that loud, but stand in front of my amp sometime. Heh. I am glad you enjoyed us though, that is what it's all about.

All in all, I'm excited that the debut project in my studio turned out pretty dang rad. Especially considering how little prep/play time we get because of all our busy schedules.
