Stab Worthy?

Postby Marvell » Fri Sep 05, 2008 3:49 pm

Not to make light of the hideous crime of murder or anything, but over on another thread it was revealed that the fatal stabbing outside The Plaza was not caused by drugs, sexual jealousy, internet gambling or any of the other usual suspects - but rather over...the jukebox.

That's right - music kills.

With that in mind:

What song sucks so infernally bad that you'd stab a bitch over it?

"Muskrat Love" comes immediately to mind, as does pretty much all Nu Metal. Of course, YSMV.

'YSMV' = 'Your Stabbing May Vary'.

I have a station I'm working on at Pandora called HATE. I listen to it when I want to throw things down the well.

A song that always gets the cunt in my rope to knot is from good old Beck.

Truckdrivin Neighbors Downstairs. youtube link

Actually there's quite a few songs off that album that do the trick.

I just came home to some shit kickin garbage eating mutherfucking poodles.

After I clean up this mess, I'll put on some Ramones.

now I want to have somethin to do

You got a drawing that goes with this line?

Take any random wisconsonite office worker, out on a friday night happy hour, send them up to the jukebox, and 9 times out of 10 you will get a stab-worthy song.

Guys: You shook me all night long
Gals: Margaritaville

before anyone gets in a bunch and decides my post is lewd, I'd like to offer this explanation.

However, I am delighted at the invitation to illustrate my intent! Thank you!

Ha! True story: Back when I was a young bar worker in the early 90's, I almost got in a bar fight over Jimmy Buffet on the juke box. Since I worked at the bar, I knew where the "kill" button was behind the bar and whenever I was done and having a couple at the bar, I'd kill all the inevitable Jimmy Buffet (back then, I hated him worse than sin and back then, the place was always so dead that only the bartenders plugged the jukebox). One night, a drunk saw me doing it to his actual picks. Dude wanted to throw down. I figured this was not worth messing up my pretty face over and gave him 2$ and we plugged all the Jimmy Motherfucking Buffet that jukebox had.

That was the closest I ever got into a bar fight in this country (well...when I wasn't on the clock). Buy me one sometime and I'll tell you about the night I started one fracas and almost started another in an English pub.

Love the "kill" button. My favorite trick when a stab-worthy song came on was to key the P.A. and announce a fake phone call for someone, pushing the kill button at the same time. There would be silence for a second and then the next song comes on. I usually got away with it.

I never understood how 99% of people can go up to a jukebox with 500+ songs on it and ALWAYS play the same ten songs.

Margaritaville, me & bobby mcgee, moondance, running with the devil, what's going on.......

Bang the Drum All Day. It would be worth the Packers never scoring again to never hear it again.

The college kids have made 80's pop the new 60's pop. With that in mind, I would die happy never hearing any mainstream pop from the 80's ever again (with a special emphasis on the years 1984-89).
