The ONION DOESN'T GET IT?

Postby blunt » Mon Apr 23, 2007 5:06 pm

Of course the Onion is terminally hip and omniscient and proficient in their cyni-socio cross referencing BUT is it just me or did it seem the youngster conducting the interview with Faghat last issue honestly had no idea where the name Faghat came from?
I know it's been a couple thousand years since their heydey, but still one can at least hear Foghat on car commercials and during movie credits.

When you make assumptions....

Why don't you ask the youngsters in Faghat where their name came from?

And a Faghat is a bundle of rockers in wigs, tights and teeny sailor hats.

Foghat founder Dave Peverett originally made the word up during a Scrabble game with his brother. Later when he started a band, he took it as the name.

When you make assumptions, you make an ASS out of U and MPTIONS...?
And the "youngsters" in Faghat aren't!
They are really really old, like in their late twenties or early thirties or something...
and they know EXACTLY where the name came from....

I've tried but it is sooooo boring. I'm more into music. If they would just have some sort of music television then I'd be all set.

Regarding the topic at hand, Rockmama is the only one who has exhibited any credibility whatsoever..

I used to be a dreamer, I can't be that way no more...

Wow, Prof.
I wax nostalgiac for the days of 8-tracks.
The only music media that paused for intermission in the middle of songs and that I could hear more than one track simultaneously!
