Tapas Rias

Postby Henry Vilas » Mon Jun 25, 2012 10:17 am

Ms Vilas and I dine at Tapas Rias every few months. It's located in a strip mall in Middleton on Allen Blvd. near Century Ave. Construction on University Ave. makes it a slow drive to get there and the mall is slightly depressing, but it's well worth the trip. We each usually have one cold and one hot tapas. Sometimes we share. Love the snails broiled in a buttery garlic sauce. The salad with goat cheese is a great starter. They carry two Spanish beer (I like the Estrella Damm from Barcelona). Haven't tried their paella yet.

If you get the Advantage coupon mailer, they usually run a coupon. Ten bucks off a minimum 35 dollar purchase.

Tapas Rias isn't the only gem in that area of Allen -- right across the street, Midtown Pub has excellent food.

Tapas Rias is really excellent. I haven't had a tapas that I didn't like and I've gone through at least half the offerings. The snails are as delicious as advertised, and the garbanzos con chorizo is the one that I've ordered every single time. I also really like the eggplant, zucchini and pepper baked with goat cheese tapas.

They could move to Pedro's West location. Or were Cancun's was next to Walgreen's on Mineral Pt rd. They have to be better than those sorry excuses for restaurants.

I heard they closed, does anyone know which it is...moving or closed? Their website isn't working which isn't a good sign.

I can't get the website to work for anything, www.tapasrias.com right? Well as long as they aren't going away I am happy!

Looks like it's based heavily on flash for the beginning. Prolly something screwy with your computer. Works fine for me.
