Dickey's Barbecue Pit

Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

Dickey's Barbecue Pit

Postby Slick Willy » Fri Apr 13, 2012 12:51 pm

A friend just told me about it, and we're gonna give it a try for lunch. Well, he's been there before, but it'll be my first time. It's connected to Potbelly's and right behind Texas Roadhouse. It is a chain, but I'm still open to trying a new BBQ place. Anybody else been there? Hopefully it's better than that chincy Smokey Bones place was.

Haven't tried it and going by most of the reviews here, I don't think I'm gonna till some of you try it first.

Dickey's is highly recommended by one of my friends, who has astonishlingly bad taste in food. So, I'm pretty sure I'll never eat there, at least not until I hear differently from one of you.

I tried Dickey's in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport a couple years ago.

I found that it cleared the extremely low bar of "pretty good for airport food".

Pros: Pleasantly smoky, inexpensive, quick. Free ice cream. Flexible menu (sandwiches can be made of any of the 8 or so meats). Open on Sundays.
Cons: Mediocre sauces.

Pretty safe on the risk/reward ratio. It's fast food barbecue, but at least it tastes good.

The one I'm thinking of is out by E Town. Not far from Hooterville.
