Anyone know when this will open? I see they have a website now, www.tempestoyster.com, but no opening date listed. I drove past there the other day and construction still appeared to going strong.

Holy Crap! An oyster bar.
I'm there.
Haven't had any good oysters in quite a while.

Free Cowboy Hats! and Shake Speare before leaving continue to dominate my all time best received public bathroom stolen comedy.

I think Madison could support a higher priced oyster bar. Deals for happy hour and repeatable, get what you pay for oysters, would move. Good luck!

p.s. Your website has some weird re-direct, so I never made it.

Maybe you have to be rich and strange to eat there.

Wow, bet it's been 20 years since I had a Laurie Anderson song stuck in my head. (Not even the one with the Tempest lyrics, damn it. Nope, O fucking Superman.)

I choose to believe that you're saying that purely in an attempt to infuriate me.

Shit, I had a half dozen oysters at a supper club on Lake Wisconsin last winter and I lived.

When I was a kid my mother used to get on my father's case for buying raw oysters at the local grocery store in Belleville. He swore they couldn't be more than three or four days old...

They get funky in a hurry. I'll only eat them on the coasts.

Hey Ned Flanders,

While it is always best to eat oyster closest to their origin, now days it is not a necessity. Oysters and 'shells' in general are safer to eat today than any time in the past. If you are willing to eat sashimi then certainly oysters are no different.

It will be very interesting to see what Henry has cooked up at his latest venture (Tempest)!?! He has great ideas.

You get your funky oysters on the coast too.

You likes your oysters, you take a chance. It's all a crapshoot with oysters. No pun intended, of course.

So we might as well go for it, then. It looks like that's the only kind of rapid transit we'll ever see in Wisconsin.
