Mickey's Food

Postby zsa zsa » Wed May 14, 2008 5:03 pm

Haven't been there since they started serving food. What's it like? Prices, selection etc.

I'm sorry if this was already a thread, I looked but didn't see anything.

Worth the effort - nothing too fancy but had a good experience. The house salad has a great dressing. No complaints. I think it is one of the best local choices in the area.

Better than solid pub grub...and the patio is quite pleasant these days...

The sandwiches are good, but the homemade slaw, which I normally hate, is really delicious. That coupled with an excellent jukebox selection makes it one of my favorite spots in Madison.

Tried their Sat/Sun brunch the other day. It was very good. My only complaint would be that the coffee pot needed faster refills.

I've eaten there 4 or 5 times and it's been really good every single time. I've had everything from a sourdough and gorgonzola grilled cheese to pasta primavera to tofu scramble for brunch and it's very delicious and pretty cheap. The service is a bit wonky sometimes, but will probably smooth out.
