Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

I figured it was because "Madisonienne" was taken.

No, don't misunderstand me. Cubanat and I have a friendly if occasionally terse back-and-forth on the subject of "goin' out to eat." In my time inhabiting TDPF, however, I have come to appreciate local offerings much more, and have relaxed my metaphoric sphincter a little when it comes to venturing outside of my normal comfort zone.

I was trying to be the "nicer than me" person cubanat asked for. Just wanted to bridge the gap between the "you're a tasteless rube!" and "let's hit the Sizzler!" crowds.

No offense intended!

None taken what-so-ever! I'm just happy to be interacting! I'm really not that much of a bitch (though, I don't deny I can be! Heh-heh!) - I'm actually a very nice person!

Well, gotta run. Y'all have a nice day!

Two things I REALLY miss from when Ella's was on State - borscht (sp? Looks odd) and blintzes. Never been to the EW (har) location. Do they still offer those items?

The whole "support the community restaurants" thing cuts two ways. If a landmark restaurant such as Ella's is seemingly running on autopilot, with prices merely keeping up with inflation and no real attention to quality control issues, it will ultimately be reflected in whether people choose to be repeat customers. I would rather see a restaurant charge slightly more and get your "money's worth", than charge slightly less and feel like you are getting ripped off. Incidentally, in it's waning days on State Street, Ella's was not exactly a bargain.

Since Ella's is a great place to take kids, the food and service would have to get pretty bad before people stop coming.
