We need this in Madison.

Attention investors, current bar owners and anybody interested. If you build one of these in Madison, I will just sign a portion of my paycheck over to you every week. We've got gay bars, bear bars, cigar bars, jock bars, piano bars, blue collar bars, beer bars, cocktail bars and sports bars. I woul...

Oddly enough, no. That's kind of what inspired this.

Bulletin Boards

I'm doing a project around non-internet advertising. Do you know where in Madison one can find a public bulletin board? Such as you might find in a restaurant covered in business cards and fliers? If you know of any or any resource where any of them may be listed you will forever be hewn from raw aw...

Re: What Hand Gun Should I Buy?

NRA preamble: We the armed people of the United States, in order to form more gun rights, establish just our definitions for words, insure domestic gun availability, provide for the common defense of the latter 1/2 of the 2nd amendment by ignoring the first 1/2, promote the general welfare of gun m...

Re: What Hand Gun Should I Buy?

That's true, which is why I compared it to recent Supreme Court rulings that dismissed years of intelligent thoughts and rulings out of hand in one quick partisan stroke. Because I think those issues are far more important than guns. Still, I believe in the meanings of words. If I intended the use ...

Re: What Hand Gun Should I Buy?

The right to "use a gun" for self-defense... It's true that the Supreme has ruled that way, however, they've also ruled so that they violated the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment (Bush Vs. America 12-12-2000), and turned corporations into people when it was our founders expli...

Re: What Hand Gun Should I Buy?

If we're going to take the Constitution literally, then we have to understand the meanings of words, not the intent of some of the people who helped write it. If the words of those who wanted gun rights for personal self defense were omitted, and they were, then we can only use the words that were ...

Re: What Hand Gun Should I Buy?

Here's my oar in the water. "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." There are multiple interpretations of this amendment. The ACLU, whom I respect deeply, maintains that this amendment...

Re: Fire at Mifflin and Webster

PB, the MFD members risk their lives to save the lives of others. The fact that you cannot summon enough respect to keep your pathetic political views out of that commentary allows no other conclusion than to say you are a soulless piece of piece of pathetic dogshite who lowers the overall dignity o...

Re: Fruit?

Yes, I do know about Jolly Bob's. Their drinks are fantastic but the are also loud and often packed. Sardine is a restaurant first and not open late. I actually hadn't looked at Merchants offerings. I will have to check it out. But at those prices, I'm not going to be able to enjoy it as often as I ...

Fruit?

If you have ever had a REAL daiquiri, not a the neon, alcoholic slushy that gets passed off as a daiquiri, it is sublime. A real daiquiri, made with fresh lime juice, simple syrup and rum is the quintessential summer cocktail. Why can't I find one in Madison? Despite the slow rise of good cocktails ...

Haven't been able to mentally justify the cost of a Graze burger but the The Pub Burger at the Dane, with the grass-fed upgrade, has be surprisingly hard to beat.

Re: Carnival or Why Are You Not Eating Here?

If you like to hear the word "local", it's local food Please define what you mean by "local food". Do they use WI produced meats, cheeses, ice cream, etc? I looked at their website/menu: http://carnivalsmadison.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and it actually ...

Carnival or Why Are You Not Eating Here?

I finally went to Carnival last week. I had the best Chicago Dog I've had in Madison. Absolutely perfect. I had onion rings that were made with the same level of skill and perfection that Lombardio's puts into their calamari. The place is super funky. The owners have obviously got a funky sense of s...

Re: Ate at Umami!

Okay, my Bride and I stopped in there a few weeks back. I've never been to Japan or had "real" ramen before but I have heard that the stock is supposed to be the heart of the dish. It was good but REALLY salty which makes me suspect that it's a powdered base instead of an honest stock. Ram...
