They have Community Change certificates ($10 off) as well as one in Bucky Book (I think)...

It makes a lunch there actually affordable!

Re: That BBQ Joint - Willy Street

I should mention that they finally added a Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/That-BBQ-Joint/416997141739634" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Recently did a side by side vs. Smoky J's, which I've loved for years. It was night and day. I was shocked how badly That BBQ Joint ...

Restaurants Worth Worrying About

I'll admit it. I'm worried about Naples 15. Chef Salvatore Di Scala is fantastic, but everything on the menu is between $3 and (ulp) $20 overpriced, for this market. Service has gotten better, but wow, does that place need someone with restaurant experience overseeing the operation. As empty as it a...

Re: Is there a place for grits and potato pancakes?

North Bristol Sportsmans Club has potato pancakes for their smelt fries (now sadly done for the year). Possibly they serve them other times?

Re: Gyros, Burrito, and Ribs

Best ribs I've had in town are from the Blowin' Smoke cart. They have them on Thursdays, I think.

Naples 15

Amazing food. Solid lunch specials.

WEIRD service. Very poor.

Anyone else been?

Some of the most amazing, memorable meals I've ever had have been in restaurants located in strip malls.

Re: Gyros, Burrito, and Ribs

On Thursdays, the BBQ cart on the Square does great ribs - big, meaty, smoky and juicy.

Their brisket and pork sandwiches are also great - and only $5.50!

Re: Sardine?

Sardine is still a solid choice for me. I agree with Book about the charcuterie plate - the mousse is one of my favorite things in town. I tend to go with the moules frites, but their whitefish was great, last time I was there, as was (surprisingly) the cavateli. Kudos to them for removing a signatu...

Re: Lulu's Hummus?

I've never been able to replicate the taste of Lulu's hummus. It was amazing. The store-brand at Whole Foods has a bit of a similar taste, and is (relatively) inexpensive, but it's not...quite...it... I remember trying to break down Lulu's recipe by the listed ingredients. It was all very basic stuf...

Yup - saw both REM and the Psychedelic Furs, there, when I went to the UW in the 80s. Interviewed both bands, as well, for the Daily Cardinal.
