I agree with juanton's suggestion of phoning the chef/establishment prior to going. Most menus are available online and you might check that out first then ask about substitutions, etc. Even though GF menu items are becoming more popular, there are still items that some people are more sensitive to ...

Downtown?
Black cod is luscious, and the salad with all the slivered cabbage and miso viniaigrette can feed the whole table. Duck rolls and the one with eel is super good too. I don't think they take reservations, so go early or plan to wait if it's peak dining hour.

I went there last week and it was good, reasonably priced pizza. There was a steady stream of neighborhood folks with kids coming in, so i think they'll do well even with the cheap pizza at TJs. I had the worst calamari there, rubbery and overcooked. I think it was frozen pre-breaded. I love calamari and like to try it wherever its offered, but this was inedible. And the pizza with mac and cheese tasted like a burnt steam table...awful. I've heard that their pizzas are good, so maybe I'll g...

Quivey's Grove. They might have the tent up by then which is a nice place for a gathering. The food is always good and usually has something for everyone.

I've never liked take out pizza - I prefer to have the pie right out of the oven. I've also ordered pizzas par-baked and finished baking them in my own oven, you get a crispier crust that way.
