Re: Judy Faulkner's Incredible Pledge

So it has now been two years since this wonderful pledge. And it truly was a wonderful pledge. So what is the update? Where have these donations gone? What has been the impact in Dane County or the world? I haven't heard of major gifts from Epic in Dane County have I missed something? I easily could...

Re: Detroit: Bankrupt

Seriously Ned. Not looking backwards but looking forwards. What is your answer? I don't disagree about mismanagement and I agree that a fair share of it can be attributed to close ties between officials borrowing funds to keep the pensions afloat and yes those leaders have all been democrats and yes...

Re: Detroit: Bankrupt

So what if the people in Detroit don't decide to move out and/or others just move in. Although some areas are in drastic disrepair there are some areas that still function and other areas, lakefront property, that seems like it will be desirable. Here is the percent of vacant lots in the City: http:...

Re: Detroit: Bankrupt

This is an amazing story. And I don't know that there are any good answers. Bankruptcy is a short term answer for current pension debt and bills but the basic reality is that this is a City with an infrastructure and square miles for 1.4 million people and there are only 600,000 people living there....

Re: I'll continue to risk arrest

I hadn't heard the damages response previously. I can see how that would give someone pause before getting a permit for space when they cannot fully control access. That makes sense. The free speech should not require a permit I get. I see why forcing the issue through the court system matters. I ju...

Re: I'll continue to risk arrest

I have to ask: How would doing all the same activities but having a permit change what you are doing? I understand you are outraged. I understand you want to leave a legacy of your effort. I get it. I'm no fan of Walker. But I have to wonder, what is the extra benefit of doing all of this without a ...

Re: How Madison alders not having children affects policy ma

Doesn't Lauren Cnaire also have children at home? And about the larger question... Probably the biggest deterent to having Council members with children is that the evening time commitment and I have no idea how you get around that. But I do think the City Council is not necessarily child oriented. ...

Re: Solidarity Singers Arrested

So what if it was a group of 400 nazis showing up unannounced to chant and march througout the Capitol. Should they require going through a permit process so that the Capitol Police can be prepared to protect them? I don't know if 20 is the right number or perhaps there should be different numbers f...

Re: Detroit goes under.

There is blame to go around for everyone to take a hit. But this is an interesting process for a few reasons. We have the State taking control of the City by citing that Cities are a utality of the State and then the State saying Detroit can't pay it's bills. Isn't the State liabel to some degree th...

Re: Who should the Dems runs against Walker?

Fanlund actually may be wanting to enlist Herb Kohl. Although not nearly as interesting, he could campaign as the elder statesman and Walker would just come across as mean.

Re: Who should the Dems runs against Walker?

Deb Carey, President of New Glarius brewing company would be another option. Beer money runs deep in the state.

And think about the Victory Party!

Re: What is the case for the 'genetic sexuality' argument?

I like to think it is God or perhaps some other wizard. That at some point when entering puberty each of us has our sexuality sit underneath God's sexual sorting hat and it picks in which "house" we shall reside after a complete analysis of our nature and how we have been nurtured. God ofc...

Uecker is a very funny affable gent but isn't actually a very good baseball radio announcer. Frankly, when I do listen to him calling a game I often am left wondering what actually happened. Here is are typical examples: Uecker: There is a pop up..... It's out of play.. or Uecker: A ground ball to t...

Re: Scott Walker vs. his book and which Dem?

Joe Parisi? Ron Kind? Judy Faulkner? Mary Burke?

Those are just four potential candidates that would probably do better than anyone on that list.
