Re: Pizza delivery

That deep-dish looks so, so good... :9 I miss LaRocca's, and I also miss Pizza Extreme on the East side. Where can I get a pizza like that deep-dish? Even a good pan-style pizza would be great, even if they didn't deliver. Rosati's is the best that I've had in town. Granted, there's not exactly a l...

I don't use one a lot, since I prefer to slice thinly. But for an uncooked dish, it's the best way to evenly distribute that garlicky goodness.

It's also the easiest way to mince garlic. Garlic press + a paring knife. Use the peeled garlic from the coop and it's almost like cheating.

I'd imagine he's got people on his staff with a pretty solid handle on best practices. I hear the president travels a bit and the secret service has been doing their thing for a few years now.

Re: Baked eggs

I tend to consume a hard-boiled egg each day as a part of my breakfast. I've taken to baking them in their shells. There's more complex directions involving water baths and whatnot, but I tend to just preheat the oven to 325 and place the eggs on the rack with a nice amount of space between them. La...

Re: Internet Only Wanted

I recently just got Uverse internet and nothing else. Their introductory offer was 19.99 for the first 12 months. It goes up after that, but it's not horrible. You do need to purchase the modem. For wireless it was about 100 bucks, but in the end, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than renting it from c...

Nah, if you're serious about doing it properly, there's no substitute for a 65,000 BTU propane wok burner.

It's also far, far cheaper.

Re: Why did Chick Fil A cross the road

People call Orwell a socialist because he was a socialist. He was anti-communist, anti-Stalin, anti-USSR ... And fervently socialist. A lot of people on the US right wing seem to have difficulty grasping that. It might have something to do with their weird inability to differentiate among Obama-sty...

Re: Why did Chick Fil A cross the road

While the company memo "Chick-fil-A: Who We Are," released last week, does use language quoted by Moreno, the document goes on to reaffirm the company's commitment to funding pro-marriage groups, although the document does not clarify as to which groups. How do you call yourself pro-marri...

Tofu has 39,245 likes. No one likes tofu. It's just something vegetarians eat so that they're not broken in half in strong winds.

It's a little known secret that Act 10 was only launched in response to Walker getting 1,000 likes on Facebook.

Apple's already learned that they aren't really interested in supporting professionals. They want to cater to the widest swath of humanity with the lowest support costs possible.

Re: Facebook Stock

They've gotten a slight bump in the past week since Zuck's speech at disrupt. Investors really like the notion of them moving into search. (Mostly because it's much easier to monetize than their current strategy of finding ways to annoy mobile users with more ads.) 89% of hedge funds are underperfor...

Re: What I Want in a Smart Phone

VMWare's been pushing for this for years, including PoC demos. I think the biggest thing standing in the way of this is the limited number of people that'd pony up the bucks for this feature. In addition to that, the hardware abstraction layer that you'd need to bake in to enable this is going to dr...

Re: iPhone 5 on Sept 12

It's funny. For all of the people squawking about being unimpressed with the iPhone 5, Apple still sold out of the initial allotment (via pre-orders) before 5am today.
